Project RE-Lock is an established and successful initiative that helps prevent victims of cycle theft from becoming victims again.
We know that for many people, a bicycle is an essential means of transport for getting to work, education, or appointments. When a bike is stolen, people often need to replace it quickly. Project RE-Lock helps protect that replacement cycle by providing victims with a Police-approved D-lock free of charge, helping to reduce the risk of repeat victimisation.
If you've been the victim of a cycle theft and need support securing your replacement bicycle, visit Mansfield House Police Station during opening hours and speak to an officer at the front counter. We'll check your crime reference number and, once verified, issue a lock subject to availability.
Stocks are limited, and we ask that the scheme is used by those who genuinely need it following a reported cycle theft.
Whilst we continue to encourage cyclists to secure their bikes properly to prevent theft in the first place, Project RE-Lock provides practical support to those who have already experienced the impact of cycle crime. Helping victims protect their replacement bikes and breaking the cycle of repeat victimisation.
